Do I need to reschedule for mowing?

Does mowing affect the services we provide? In some cases, yes, in most cases, not so much.

Mowing crews don't actually affect our service dates as much as you may think. There are a few situations where mowing could affect the efficacy of our services. Since rescheduling is definitely not ideal, it's important for you to know when it's worth rescheduling. Also read this article about some special things we can do to help you avoid rescheduling.

Weed Control

The only time you would want to reschedule due to mowing would be if your lawn was heavily covered by weeds, or if you have specifically called in a spot-treatment.

If the lawn was freshly mowed and we come to treat for weeds, it can reduce the effectiveness of the herbicide due to a lack of leafy material for the herbicide to come into contact with. If you called in a request for a spot treatment, it can be difficult for us to see the weeds you're needing us to treat.

Fertilizer

Fertilizer treatments in particular do not need to be rescheduled as the fertilizer is a dry granular product that falls to the soil and is heavy. Due to the weight of the product and the small amount of surface area, this treatment is not affected by mowing and should not be rescheduled.

Fertilizer is also a very quickly performed service and the chance of the mowing crew and Willis technician interrupting each others work is very unlikely.
